§607 Preparation of Analyses

Summary

Under sections 603 and 604, an agency can give numeric estimates of how a proposed rule (or alternatives) would affect people or businesses. If counting or estimating those effects isn't practical or reliable, the agency can instead give more general, descriptive statements.

In complying with the provisions of section 603 and 604 of this title, an agency may provide either a quantifiable or numerical description of the effects of a proposed rule or alternatives to the proposed rule, or more general descriptive statements if quantification is not practicable or reliable.
