Title 5 › Part III— EMPLOYEES › Subpart E— Attendance and Leave › Chapter 63— LEAVE › Subchapter IV— VOLUNTARY LEAVE BANK PROGRAM › § 6368
A medical emergency for someone getting leave under this program ends on the date when one of three things happens: the leave recipient tells the Leave Bank Board in writing that the emergency is over; the Leave Bank Board, after giving written notice and a chance to reply either by speaking or in writing, decides the emergency is over; or the leave recipient is separated from service (stops working). The Leave Bank Board must set up procedures, following rules from the Office of Personnel Management, to make sure no one can use or receive donated leave after their medical emergency ends. Also, sections 5551, 5552, and 6306 do not apply to any annual leave given to a recipient under this program.
