If Congress passes a joint resolution that stops a rule from taking effect or ends its effect, any deadline tied to that rule is pushed back until the date 1 year after the joint resolution’s enactment. This does not change a deadline just because a rule’s effective date was postponed under section 801(a). deadline — any set date to meet a duty or use a power under a federal law, regulation, or a court order enforcing them.
