§8410 Eligibility for Annuity

Summary

An employee or Member must have at least 5 years of civilian service that counts under section 8411 to qualify for an annuity (a regular retirement payment) under this subchapter. This requirement applies even if other parts of this chapter say something different.

Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, an employee or Member must complete at least 5 years of civilian service creditable under section 8411 in order to be eligible for an annuity under this subchapter.
