Title 50 › Chapter 41— NATIONAL NUCLEAR SECURITY ADMINISTRATION › Subchapter I— ESTABLISHMENT AND ORGANIZATION › § 2403
Creates a Principal Deputy Administrator who is chosen by the President and approved by the Senate. The person must have strong experience running large organizations and be able to oversee the agency’s nuclear weapons work, building and keeping up facilities, stopping the spread of nuclear weapons, and safe disposal of nuclear materials. They work under the Administrator, carry out duties the Administrator gives, coordinate work across the agency, and act with the Administrator’s authority if the Administrator is disabled or the job is empty.
