Servicemembers keep rights to U.S. lands they owned or acquired before military service; absence or not working the land won’t make them lose those rights. Permits under the Act of June 28, 1934 may be suspended during service and for 180 days after, and the Interior Secretary must allow suspensions and forgive, reduce, or refund grazing fees.
