A historic preservation review commission is a board set up by state or local law under section 302503(a)(2). The chief elected official of the area chooses its members unless another official is named by law. Members must include available professionals in fields like architecture, history, archaeology, planning, anthropology, curation, conservation, and landscape architecture, plus other people with proven interest or experience so the commission is qualified.
