§308602 United States African-american Burial Grounds Preservation Program

Summary

The Secretary must create a program called the United States African-American Burial Grounds Preservation Program inside the Service. Working with the National Trust for Historic Preservation and members of the African‑American heritage community, the Secretary must set up a grants program under section 308603(a). The Secretary may accept money donations to support the program. Burial grounds can only get a grant if the property owner agrees and if an individual, owner, private or nonprofit group, or a State, Tribal, or local government (or other entity) asks for it.
