Title 7 › Chapter 42— AGRICULTURAL COMMODITY SET-ASIDE › § 1745
When a commodity is put into the set-aside or moved from it to the National Defense Stockpile, that amount must not be counted as "carryover" when figuring price support levels under the Agricultural Act of 1949. The same amount must be counted as part of total supplies when making acreage allotments and marketing quotas under the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938. For the 1955 crop, while the set-aside is not finished, the Secretary may choose an amount between the minimum and maximum in section 1741 to leave out of carryover for price support but still include in total supplies for allotments and quotas, even if the Corporation has not yet acquired that amount.
