Title 7 › CHAPTER 55 — DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE › § 2204–1
Defines two key terms used in sections 2204–1 to 2204–5. Regulatory order means an official action—like an order, marketing agreement, standard, permit, license, registration, suspension or revocation of those, certificate, award, rule, or regulation—that counts as law and that can only be made after public notice and a hearing or a chance for a hearing. Regulatory function means making or issuing those orders, deciding whether the law lets or requires you to do that, and any steps needed before, during, or after to carry it out.
