Defines the main words used in the chapter. "Agricultural product" means an agricultural commodity, chosen by the Secretary, and includes processed forms. "Approval" is the Secretary’s permission to do something allowed here. "Department" means the Department of Agriculture. "Electronic document" is any paperless file made, sent, received, or stored by electronic or similar methods, such as EDI, email, telegram, telex, or telecopy. "Electronic receipt" is a receipt the Secretary allows to be sent as an electronic document. "Holder" is a person who actually has a receipt or electronic document, in fact or by law. "Person" includes a person (as defined in section 1 of title 1), a State, and a political subdivision of a State. "Receipt" means a warehouse receipt under this chapter, including an electronic receipt. "Secretary" means the Secretary of Agriculture. "Warehouse" is a building or other approved storage place, set by the Secretary, where agricultural products are stored or handled for interstate or foreign commerce. "Warehouse operator" is someone lawfully in the business of storing or handling agricultural products.
