Title 7 › Chapter 59— RURAL FIRE PROTECTION, DEVELOPMENT, AND SMALL FARM RESEARCH AND EDUCATION › Subchapter II— RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND SMALL FARM RESEARCH AND EDUCATION › § 2661
Provide useful knowledge, research, and help to people and groups working on rural development. It gives scientific, technical, economic, environmental, and management information to states, regional agencies, counties, cities, businesses, tribes, and others. It supports research in many fields, encourages colleges and universities to do and share practical research, offers training and technical help to small farm families, and backs programs for states facing rapid change or isolation. The goals are to make rural areas better places to live and work; raise incomes and jobs (including for small farms, small businesses, and rural youth); improve community services, facilities, and housing; manage natural resources so family farms can grow with little harm to the environment and farmland; improve data for local, state, and national decisions; and strengthen rural governments, leaders, and groups to access federal programs, deliver help, coordinate with others, and share better information about rural conditions.
