Title 7 › Chapter 21— TOBACCO STATISTICS › § 503
People and businesses that handle leaf tobacco — like dealers, manufacturers, quasi-manufacturers, growers’ cooperatives, warehousemen, brokers, holders, or owners (but not the original grower and others excluded under section 501) must report how much leaf tobacco they have on hand. They must send a complete and accurate report, using the forms the Secretary of Agriculture provides, within 15 days after January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1. If a required person, or their officer, agent, or employee, refuses or on purpose fails to give the information, or gives false or misleading answers, they commit a misdemeanor and can be fined $300 to $1,000, jailed for up to one year, or both.
