§503 Reports; Necessity; by Whom Made; Penalties

Summary

Dealers, manufacturers, quasi-manufacturers, growers’ cooperatives, warehousemen, brokers, holders, and owners (but not the original grower and others excluded under section 501) must, within 15 days after January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 each year, give a complete and accurate report of how much leaf tobacco they have on hand, organized the way the Secretary of Agriculture’s forms require. Any required person, business, or their officers, agents, or employees who refuse or on purpose fail to provide the information, or who give false or misleading answers, commits a misdemeanor. If convicted, they face a fine of $300 to $1,000, or up to one year in jail, or both.
