Title 7 › Chapter 98— DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE REORGANIZATION › Subchapter V— NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT › § 6961
Allows the Secretary of Agriculture to create an Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment inside the Department. If the job is created, the President must pick the person and the Senate must confirm them. When created, the Secretary must give that Under Secretary the Department duties about natural resources and the environment, except duties already given under section 6932. The Under Secretary must also do other duties required by law or assigned by the Secretary. A person who was serving as Assistant Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment on October 13, 1994 and who was appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate does not have to be reappointed to the new Under Secretary job if the Secretary creates the post and places that person in it within 180 days after October 13, 1994 (or a later date the Secretary sets if court delays occur).
