§7033 Availability of Agency Information Technology Funds

Summary

Requires the Secretary to set aside up to $3,000,000 from the IT budgets of the listed Department agencies for fiscal year 2001, and up to $2,000,000 for each fiscal year after. The Secretary must tell Congress the amount set aside by December 1 of that fiscal year. The money must be used to build the required Internet-based system and to expand it later. Once the system is running, the funds must pay for its maintenance and improvements. Any set-aside money not spent by year’s end goes back to the agency it came from and stays available until spent.
