Title 7 › Chapter 109— ANIMAL HEALTH PROTECTION › § 8309
The Secretary can set up a veterinary accreditation program under this chapter and create rules of conduct for accredited veterinarians. The Secretary must consult State animal health officials and veterinary professionals when doing this. The Secretary may suspend or cancel a veterinarian’s accreditation for violating the chapter, but only after notice and a formal hearing on the record. Those orders can be reviewed under chapter 158 of title 28. If the Secretary believes a vet knowingly broke the chapter, accreditation can be suspended right away, with a prompt post-suspension hearing on the record. The penalties in section 8313 do not apply unless the vet also broke another part of the chapter.
