Campground Nightly Fees Introduced
Starting July 7, 2025, Expanded Amenity overnight camping fees will apply at listed campgrounds: $25 per night for single campsites (covers up to 10 visitors and the first two vehicles) and $75 per night for group campsites (covers up to 30 visitors and the first two vehicles); additional vehicles pay the day‑use fee.
Future Fee Increases Indexed to CPI
The BLM may raise fees in the future within specified ranges (vehicle: $10–$15; bike/walk‑in: $5–$10; high‑capacity vehicle: $20–$30) and may use the Consumer Price Index (CPI) to escalate fees above 2023 dollar levels; initial implementation will use the lower end of the proposed schedule.
On‑River Camping Permits Required
Starting July 7, 2025, anyone camping on the Upper Colorado River in the specified Special Recreation Management Areas must obtain an Individual Special Recreation Permit (ISRP). A float‑in only ISRP fee of $5 per participant per night will apply to 25 designated campsites in the Kremmling Field Office SRMA and 11 designated campsites in the Colorado River Valley Field Office SRMA.
New Day‑Use Fees for River Access
Beginning July 7, 2025, day visitors at listed Upper Colorado River day‑use sites will pay Standard Amenity fees: $10 per day per vehicle, $5 per day for individuals (motorcycle, bicycle, or walk‑in), and $20 per day for high‑capacity vehicles. A $50 day‑use season pass (valid for all day‑use sites) will be offered.
Season Pass Price Increased
The Upper Colorado River SRMA season pass for day‑use sites is being raised from $20 per season to $50 per season, effective July 7, 2025.
