Hybrid public meetings in Tampa and Zoom
The Legal Services Corporation will hold its quarterly meetings January 26-28, 2025 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Convention Center (513 South Florida Avenue, Tampa, FL) and virtually via Zoom. Most sessions are open for public observation and the notice provides Zoom links and Meeting IDs (815 6538 3451 and 857 6913 7645) with passcodes (153274 and 444480).
Public can speak during comment periods
Members of the public may participate during public comment times at the meetings by using Zoom's 'raise your hand' or 'chat' functions and waiting to be recognized by the Chair. Public comment opportunities are scheduled during the open sessions on January 27-28, 2025.
Certain meeting parts may be closed to public
Some portions of the Finance, Audit, Delivery of Legal Services committees, and the Board of Directors meetings may be closed to the public upon a Board vote for topics such as review of banking services; briefings on active enforcement matters and investigations; service area configuration; management and Inspector General briefings; General Counsel reports on outside counsel expenditures; and potential or pending litigation. When closed, those items will not be open for public observation.
Meeting materials posted 24 hours early
Non-confidential meeting materials will be made available in electronic format at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting on the LSC website at https://www.lsc.gov/about-lsc/board-meeting-materials. This gives the public time to review materials before the January 26-28, 2025 meetings.
Transcripts and confidentiality limits explained
A verbatim written transcript will be made of closed sessions, but transcripts of any closed portions that fall within 5 U.S.C. 552b(c)(6), (7), (9) and (10) will not be available for public inspection. A copy of the General Counsel's certification that a closing is authorized by law will be available upon request.
