The President ordered that the United States will protect religious freedom for Christians and stop unlawful anti-Christian conduct by government. The order directs agencies to identify, terminate, and rectify any policies or practices that unlawfully target Christians.
Task Force to review and remediate prior actions
The order creates a Department of Justice Task Force to review executive-branch activities under the prior Administration and recommend revocation or termination of any unlawful anti-Christian policies or practices. The Task Force may recommend remedial steps to agency heads and may recommend additional Presidential or legislative action to address identified failures.
Reporting deadlines and Task Force lifespan
The Task Force must deliver an initial report within 120 days of the order (by June 6, 2025), a follow-up report within 1 year (by February 6, 2026), and a final report on dissolution; the Task Force will terminate 2 years from the date of the order (February 6, 2027) unless extended.
