Federal Executive Institute Eliminated
The President issued Executive Order 14207 on February 10, 2025 directing that the Federal Executive Institute (a leadership training program created more than 50 years ago) be eliminated. The Order revokes the Presidential Memorandum of May 9, 1968 and any applicable provisions of Executive Order 11348, and directs the Director of the Office of Personnel Management to take all necessary steps to eliminate the Institute in accordance with law.
Closure Subject to Law and Funding
The Order requires implementation "consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations." That means the Director of the Office of Personnel Management must follow legal requirements and any action to eliminate the Institute depends on available funding.
