Summary

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission got a bunch of new filings from energy companies about changes in ownership, rates, and rules. These updates could affect how electricity is priced and managed, with some changes kicking in as soon as February or as far out as 9998 (yes, really!). The New York Independent System Operator filed a Section 206 rate filing for Canadian import tariffs that is listed to be effective 2025-02-28. This filing is publicly noticed in the FERC combined filings and has a comment date of 5:00 p.m. ET on 2025-03-10.

Multiple Market-Based Rate Applications Filed

Several companies filed applications for market-based rate (MBR) authority: Eldorado Solar Project II (effective 2025-05-04), Sol InfraCo MT3 (effective 9998-12-31), EXUS NM Data Center IV (MBR application effective 2025-03-04), and Escape Solar LLC (MBR application effective 2025-04-10). These filings are docketed with FERC and have comment dates in March 2025.

Multiple Tariff, OATT, and Service Agreement Amendments

The Commission docket lists numerous tariff and rate filings (examples: PJM compliance to be effective 2024-07-01, PJM tariff amendments effective 2025-03-01, El Paso Electric OATT revisions effective 2025-05-02, SPP NITSA NOA effective 2025-02-01, METC filing effective 2025-02-27, Chalk Point Steam notice of cancellation effective 2025-03-04, and various ISA/NITSA amendments effective in Feb–May 2025). These filings change or cancel tariff, transmission service, or agreement provisions and are open for comment in March 2025.

PacifiCorp Files Accounting for Keno Dam Conveyance

PacifiCorp submitted revised proposed accounting entries to record conveyance of ownership of the Keno Dam (filed 2025-03-03, docket AC25-50-000) with a comment date of 5:00 p.m. ET on 2025-03-24. The filing records the ownership change in FERC's docketed filings.
