Final EIS released for Harris Project

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued the final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the R.L. Harris Hydroelectric Project (FERC No. 2628) on March 31, 2025. The project is on the Tallapoosa River near Lineville in Randolph, Clay, and Cleburne Counties and includes land in the James D. Martin-Skyline Wildlife Management Area about 110 miles north of Harris Lake; the EIS describes the applicant's relicensing proposal and alternatives and documents views of agencies, tribes, NGOs, and the public.
