Final flood map updates for communities
FEMA made final flood hazard determinations that change Base Flood Elevations (BFEs), base flood depths, Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) boundaries or zone designations, or regulatory floodways on Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and supporting Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports for listed communities. If you live or own property in those listed communities, these final map changes could affect your flood insurance and building rules.
Community NFIP participation requirement
The updated FIRM and FIS reports are the basis for floodplain management measures that a community must adopt or show evidence of adopting in order to qualify or remain qualified for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Communities listed will need to adopt or demonstrate these measures to maintain NFIP participation.
