Request to Transfer Alaska LNG Permit
On April 11, 2025 AGDC and Glenfarne asked FERC to transfer the Alaska LNG Project's Natural Gas Act section 3 Authorization and Presidential Permit to 8 Star Alaska, LLC. The application says Glenfarne acquired a 75 percent equity interest in 8 Star and the State of Alaska (through AGDC) retained a 25 percent ownership interest; the applicants say the transfer will facilitate anticipated investment and progress construction of the Project.
Environmental Review Timing and 90-Day Rule
Under FERC rules, within 90 days of this notice Commission staff will either complete the environmental review and place it in the public record or issue a Notice of Schedule for Environmental Review. If a Notice of Schedule is issued, it will show the anticipated date for the final environmental impact statement (FEIS) or environmental assessment (EA), and Federal and State agencies then must complete all necessary Federal authorizations within 90 days of the date the Commission staff issues its FEIS or EA.

Anyone may file comments, protests, or a motion to intervene in this FERC docket; there is no fee to file comments or to intervene. The deadline to file a motion to intervene is 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on May 5, 2025, and filing a comment alone does not make you a party—only intervenors have the right to request rehearing or later challenge Commission orders in the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal.
