Stops 'Stacking' of Overlapping Tariffs

The government is eliminating the compounding or “stacking” of certain overlapping tariffs that were imposed under various statutes and prior Executive orders. If you import goods that were subject to more than one of those tariffs, the way your duty is calculated will change so the extra overlapping charges no longer pile up.

Updates to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule

The Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) will be modified as described in the Annex to this notice. If you import goods, those HTSUS changes can alter the tariff classification or duty you owe on affected products.
