Cboe EDGA Charges Up for Dedicated Cores

Published Date: 5/27/2025

Notice

Summary

Cboe EDGA Exchange is updating its fee schedule to add charges for Dedicated Cores, a special service they offer. This change affects traders using these Dedicated Cores and takes effect immediately, meaning some users might see new fees starting now. The goal is to keep things fair and clear for everyone using the exchange.

Analyzed Economic Effects

6 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 3 costs, 1 mixed.

New per‑Core Monthly Fees

The Exchange will charge monthly fees for Dedicated Cores beyond two free cores: $650 per core for cores 3–10, $850 per core for cores 11–15, and $1,050 per core for 16 or more. The Fees Schedule gives an example: 11 Dedicated Cores would cost $6,050 per month (($0 * 2) + ($650 * 8) + ($850 * 1)).

Two Free Cores—Port Fees Still Apply

The Exchange provides up to two Dedicated Cores to Users at no additional cost, but the standard BOE logical port fee of $550 per port per month still applies to those first two cores. Port fees remain unchanged and continue to be billed monthly.

Member Cap Raised to 120 Cores

The Exchange increased the maximum number of Dedicated Cores a Member may have to 120, effective December 1, 2024. Sponsoring Members remain limited to a maximum of 35 Dedicated Cores per Sponsored Access relationship.

Change Took Effect Immediately on Filing

The Exchange filed the rule change on May 7, 2025 and it became effective upon filing, so Users could begin incurring the new Dedicated Core fees immediately after that date. The Commission may suspend the change within 60 days.

Monthly Fees Billed in Full, Not Prorated

The Exchange will assess the monthly Dedicated Core fees in their entirety and will not prorate fees for partial-month usage. Monthly fees are billed as full monthly amounts each month.

Use of Dedicated Cores Is Optional

The Exchange states that Dedicated Cores are voluntary and not required to trade; Users may continue to use shared CPU Cores at no additional cost if they prefer. Firms can choose dedicated, shared, or a mix of cores based on their needs.
