Cboe EDGX Implements Dedicated Cores Fee Changes

Published Date: 5/27/2025

Notice

Summary

Cboe EDGX Exchange is updating its fee schedule to add charges for Dedicated Cores, which are special tech setups for traders. This change affects anyone using these Dedicated Cores and takes effect immediately, meaning users should expect new fees starting now. It’s all about keeping the system fair and clear on costs.

Analyzed Economic Effects

4 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 3 costs, 0 mixed.

Tiered monthly Dedicated Core fees

If your firm uses more than two Dedicated Cores, the Exchange will charge monthly per‑core fees: $650 per core for 3–15 cores, $850 per core for 16–30 cores, and $1,050 per core for 31 or more cores. The fees are assessed in full each month and are not prorated (for example, 16 cores would cost $9,300 per month: ($0 * 2) + ($650 * 13) + ($850 * 1)).

BOE logical port fee remains $550/month

The standard Binary Order Entry (BOE) logical port fee of $550 per port per month continues to apply and will still be charged even for the first two Dedicated Cores that the Exchange provides at no additional Dedicated Core charge. Port fees remain unchanged and continue to be billed monthly.

Two Dedicated Cores provided free

The Exchange will provide up to two Dedicated Cores to all Users at no additional cost. Using Dedicated Cores is voluntary — Users may continue to use shared CPU Cores instead, and the offering is available to any User who wishes to purchase Dedicated Cores.

Limits on total Dedicated Cores per User

The Exchange set maximum allocations for Dedicated Cores: Members are limited to 120 Dedicated Cores (effective December 1, 2024), and Sponsoring Members are limited to 35 Dedicated Cores for each Sponsored Access relationship. These caps are intended to manage finite data center space and are applied uniformly to similarly situated Users.
