FERC opens rate investigation

On August 18, 2025 the Commission began a formal investigation under Section 206 of the Federal Power Act to decide whether Ranchland Solar, LLC's Rate Schedule is unjust, unreasonable, discriminatory, preferential, or otherwise unlawful. If the Commission finds the rates unlawful, it can require changes to the rate schedule.

Refunds effective August 21, 2025

The Commission set the refund effective date as the date this notice was published in the Federal Register: August 21, 2025. If the Commission later finds Ranchland Solar's rates unlawful, refunds would be effective starting on that date.

21-day window to intervene

Anyone who wants to be heard in Docket No. EL25-100-000 must file a notice of intervention or motion to intervene under Rule 214 within 21 days of the order's issuance. The order was issued August 18, 2025, so stakeholders have a 21-day filing window to join the case.
