10‑Year Export Ban for Almeida

Because of his August 31, 2023 conviction for smuggling 900 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition, Pedro Cruz Almeida, Jr. is denied all export privileges under the Export Administration Regulations from the date of this Order until August 31, 2033. During that period he may not apply for or use any export license or otherwise participate in transactions involving items subject to the Regulations.

Revocation of BIS Licenses Held

Any Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) licenses or authorizations in which Pedro Cruz Almeida, Jr. had an interest at the time of his August 31, 2023 conviction are revoked. Those revocations take effect as part of this Order.

Prohibition on Third‑Party Transactions With Him

The Order prohibits any person from exporting, reexporting, transferring to or on behalf of Almeida, or from facilitating Almeida's acquisition, possession, control, or servicing of items subject to the Regulations. It also bars obtaining items from Almeida when there is knowledge or reason to know they will be exported.

Order May Extend to Related Parties

BIS may apply the provisions of this Order to any person, firm, corporation, or business organization related to Almeida by ownership, control, position of responsibility, affiliation, or other connection to prevent evasion of the Order.

Right to Appeal Within 45 Days

Almeida may file an appeal of this Order with the Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security. The appeal must be filed within 45 days from the date of the Order and must comply with Part 756 of the Regulations.
