Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.

Project water use and river flow amounts

The project would require about 2,808 acre-feet of water for initial fill and about 149 acre-feet annually for maintenance. It would make available all Tom Fork River flows above 2.8 cubic feet per second (cfs) for maintenance and use about 10% of the mean monthly flow in the Cumberland River for initial fill and supplementation.

Land, river inundation, and on-site construction

The proposed project boundary would enclose about 148 acres of privately owned land plus about 16 additional parcels; the lower reservoir would inundate part of the 1.8-mile-long Tom Fork River. Construction would add about 7.1 miles of permanent roads, 4 miles of temporary roads, a 2.5-mile 161-kilovolt overhead transmission line, and two switching stations.
