Analyzed Economic Effects
5 provisions identified: 3 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.
Alphapointe to Supply Bubble Roll
The Committee proposes adding NSN 810012201N — Package Filler, Cushioning, Bubble, Roll, Perforated, 12' x 175'' — to the Procurement List with Alphapointe (Kansas City, MO) listed as the authorized source of supply and designated "Mandatory For: Total Government Requirement." This would make Alphapointe the required supplier for that product across the government if the Committee approves the addition.
DePaul Industries Named for Combat Knife Supply
The Committee proposes adding NSN 1095-01-598-4343 — Combat Knife, Mini, Out the Front (OTF) — to the Procurement List with DePaul Industries (Portland, OR) as the authorized source and listed as "Mandatory For: DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE." If approved, DePaul Industries would be the required nonprofit supplier for the Department of Defense for that item.
Tactical Fleet Support for Fort Benning
The Committee intends to add the service "Tactical Fleet Operator Support" as a mandatory purchase for the US Army, Directorate of Training Sustainment, Fort Benning, GA, with Brevard Achievement Center, Inc. (Rockledge, FL) listed as the authorized source of supply. The Committee will consider geographic limitation before finalizing the mandatory addition for that contracting activity.
Removal of Multiple Helmet Covers from List
The Committee proposes deleting several helmet cover NSNs (including 8415-01-092-7514; 8415-01-092-7515; 8415-01-303-8945; 8415-01-521-8357; 8415-01-521-8360; 8415-01-521-8806; 8415-01-521-8808; 8415-01-591-5907; 8415-01-591-5918; 8415-01-591-5946) from the Procurement List. These items were previously furnished by multiple nonprofit agencies (for example, Alabama Industries for the Blind; Lions Services, Inc.; Industries of the Blind, Inc.; and others) and are listed as "Mandatory For: DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE." If deleted, those directed procurement listings for the named nonprofits would be removed.
Deletion of Several Service Contracts
The Committee proposes deleting multiple services from the Procurement List, including janitorial/custodial for GSA courthouses in Portland, OR; grounds maintenance, guard services, and alarm monitoring for Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis Reserve Centers; janitorial/custodial for the OPM Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, VA; and document management for USDA Forest Service Region 6 in Portland, OR. These services are currently listed as mandatory purchases and would be removed from the Procurement List if the Committee finalizes the deletions.
