2026 Ocean Salmon Rules Implemented May 16

Federal regulations for the 2026 ocean salmon fisheries will be published in the Federal Register and implemented on May 16, 2026.

Public Hearings in WA, CA, and OR

Public hearings to receive comments on the proposed 2026 ocean salmon fishery management alternatives are tentatively scheduled for March 23, 2026 (Washington and California hearings at 7 p.m.) and March 24, 2026 (Oregon hearing at 7 p.m.). Washington and California hearings are tentatively in Westport, WA and Santa Rosa, CA; the Oregon hearing is tentatively in Newport, OR with remote access available.

Written Comments Due by April 6, 2026

If you want to comment on the proposed 2026 ocean salmon fishery management alternatives, you must submit written comments through the Pacific Council's e-portal (https://pfmc.psmfc.org). Comments must be received by the public comment deadline which is tentatively scheduled for 5 p.m. April 6, 2026, and before the start of the April 2026 Council meeting.
