Swiss Steel Tubing Review Axed: Nobody Shipped Any

Published Date: 4/8/2026

Notice

Summary

The U.S. Department of Commerce is canceling the review of special steel tubing imports from Switzerland for June 2024 to May 2025 because the main Swiss companies didn’t send any products during that time. This means no extra duties or changes will happen for these companies right now. The decision kicks in on April 8, 2026, keeping things clear and simple for everyone involved.

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Assessment Instructions and Timing

Commerce will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection to assess antidumping duties on appropriate entries at rates equal to the cash deposit required at the time of entry or withdrawal. Commerce intends to issue these assessment instructions no earlier than 35 days after publication of this rescission notice in the Federal Register (the notice was published April 8, 2026).

Review Rescinded for Swiss Tubing Firms

Commerce is canceling (rescinding) the antidumping administrative review for certain cold-drawn mechanical tubing from Switzerland for the period June 1, 2024 through May 31, 2025. The rescission applies specifically to Benteler Rothrist AG, Mubea Präzisionsstahlrohr AG, and Mubea Inc because they had no entries during that period, so no extra duties or changes will happen for those firms now. This decision is effective April 8, 2026.

Cash Deposit Rates Remain Unchanged

Commerce states that no cash deposit rates will change as a result of this rescission, so the current cash deposit requirements remain in effect until further notice. That means importers should continue to follow the same cash deposit rules they were using before the rescission took effect on April 8, 2026.
