3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.

Approval Is Not a Funding Promise

FAA approval does not mean the FAA will pay to implement the noise measures or that all measures are eligible for FAA grants. If federal funding is sought, project grant requests must be submitted to the FAA Airports District Office in Romulus, Michigan, and FAA decisions may require environmental review.

Airport Noise Plan Approved for Columbus

The FAA approved the John Glenn Columbus International Airport noise compatibility program effective April 14, 2026. The program contains 25 proposed noise-mitigation actions and is planned for phased implementation from 2025 through 2029 and beyond, so nearby neighborhoods and airport users should expect noise-reduction steps to be carried out over that period.

Two Proposed Measures Withdrawn

The FAA officially approved withdrawing Measure NA-2 and Measure NA-8 as part of the Record of Approval signed April 10, 2026. While most program elements were approved, these two specific measures will not be implemented under the approved program.
