Immediate inspection and 2-inch clearance rule
If you operate a Boeing 747-400 converted to a freighter under STC ST01676SE or STC ST01706SE, you must, before further flight after May 7, 2026, do a detailed inspection for chafing and arcing of the crew oxygen bottle flexible hose (P/N 96431-2) and adjacent cargo loading system wiring, and confirm a minimum 2‑inch clearance. If chafing or arcing damage is found or clearance is less than 2 inches, you must repair the condition before further flight using an FAA- or CAAI-approved method.

Special flight permit allowed to reach repair location
Operators may obtain a special flight permit to fly the airplane to a location where corrective actions can be performed under 14 CFR 21.197 and 21.199, provided there are no signs of wear or chafing on the oxygen tubes or electrical wires or harnesses. This allows movement of aircraft to a repair facility when immediate on-site repair is not possible.
