Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Mandatory Electronic Filing via IBFS

If you file applications or reports for international broadcast stations, the FCC requires those filings to be submitted electronically through the International Bureau Filing System (IBFS). The new web-based system requires an FCC Registration Number (FRN) and the Commission says filing through IBFS will reduce burden hours for applicants.

Paperwork Burden and Cost Totals

The FCC reports this information collection covers 258 respondents and estimates total annual burden of 20,125 hours and an annual cost burden of $123,230. Estimated time per response ranges from 2 to 720 hours and the collection is required to obtain or retain benefits.

Comment Opportunity for Small Businesses

The FCC is asking the public to comment on the information collection and specifically seeks ideas on how to reduce the burden for small business concerns with fewer than 25 employees. Comments must be submitted by May 29, 2026 via www.reginfo.gov and emailed copies to the FCC contacts listed.
