FINRA Sends 8210 Requests Online
If your firm is a FINRA member, FINRA will deliver Rule 8210 requests electronically through the FINRA Gateway instead of mailing them. FINRA filed the change April 20, 2026 and will implement it on May 26, 2026. FINRA says this will make communications faster, provide secure transmission and tracking, and eliminate routine mail-handling costs, though firms that prefer paper may need to print requests.
Associated Persons Still Served by Mail
If you are an associated person (including registered representatives), FINRA will continue to deliver 8210 requests to you by mail or personal service; the electronic delivery change applies only to member firms. This rule change was filed April 20, 2026 and will be implemented May 26, 2026.
