For VA-guaranteed refinancing applications taken on or after the effective date, lenders must provide initial disclosures to the Veteran within 3 business days from the initial application date and again at closing. If these disclosure requirements are not met, the loan may be subject to indemnification or removal of the VA guaranty for up to 5 years.
VA reduces paperwork for cash-out refinancing
The VA changed its information collection for VA-guaranteed cash-out refinance loans to cut paperwork. The number of participating respondents dropped from 480,000 to 146,000, the estimated annual burden is 12,167 hours, the average burden per respondent is 5 minutes, and responses occur two times per loan.
