LPFM Form 2100 Collection Extended
If you are a not-for-profit or a State, local, or Tribal government that applies for Low Power FM (LPFM) station permits, the FCC is requesting a three-year extension of OMB Control Number 3060-0920 for Form 2100, Schedule 318. The docket lists 24,606 respondents (31,324 responses), an estimated 0.0025–12 hours per response, total annual burden of 52,889 hours, and total annual costs of $1,229,370.
LPFM Online Public-Notice Requirement
If you file an application to construct a new LPFM station, you must post local public notice on your station, licensee, parent-entity website, or a publicly accessible, locally targeted website for 30 consecutive days, beginning within five business days of acceptance, and link to the application in the FCC's LMS database. This online notice requirement is set out in 47 CFR 73.3580 as amended.
Opportunity to Comment on Paperwork Burdens
The FCC invites the public to comment on whether its information collections are necessary, clear, and not overly burdensome, and it specifically asks for ways to reduce the burden on small business concerns with fewer than 25 employees. Written comments must be submitted on or before July 6, 2026.
