FTZ Use Lets Turbocam Save on Imports

Turbocam Inc. asked to make turbocharger and aircraft engine parts inside Foreign-Trade Zone 81 at its Barrington, Dover, and Rochester, New Hampshire sites. Producing inside the FTZ would let the company use certain imported materials without paying duties, which the notice says helps them save money and speed up production; the notification was received May 1, 2026.

Some Finished Products Enter Duty-Free

The proposed finished products (including titanium turbocharger impellers, nickel-alloy aircraft compressor components, aluminum compressor impellers, and certain steel turbocharger parts) are listed as duty-free. The proposal also lists foreign-status input materials with duty rates that range from duty-free up to 5.5%.

Some Inputs Subject to Trade Remedy Rules

The request says certain materials may be subject to duties under section 122, section 201, section 232, or section 301 depending on origin, and those decisions require such merchandise to be admitted to FTZs in privileged foreign status under 19 CFR 146.41.
