Analyzed Economic Effects

4 provisions identified: 3 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Q-855 Replaces Jet Route J-549

The FAA proposes to establish Canadian RNAV Route Q-855 between the Williston, ND (ISN) VOR/DME and the JARLY, ND waypoint, and to revoke Jet Route J-549 in its entirety. The new Q-855 will connect with NAV Canada's existing Q-855 at the JARLY waypoint located on the U.S./Canadian border.

Brandon VOR Decommissioning Effect

The Brandon, Manitoba VOR was decommissioned and Jet Route J-549 is currently NOTAM'd out of service because of that decommissioning. The proposed Q-855 is intended to accommodate NAV Canada's multi-year NAVAID Modernization Plan that reduces reliance on ground-based navigation aids.

Removal of CFGMH Navigation Fix

The FAA proposes to remove the computer navigation fix CFGMH from the navigation database as part of this action. Pilots and navigation database providers will see CFGMH removed once the amendment is published.

FAA Expects De Minimis Costs

The FAA states this proposed regulation is routine, would result at most in de minimis costs from compliance or minor flight rerouting, and certifies it will not have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities under the Regulatory Flexibility Act.
