Refundable child credit for Puerto Rico
If enacted, families in Puerto Rico with qualifying children could get the refundable Child Tax Credit. The bill would change how the refund is calculated by doubling part of the Social Security tax amount and removing the “50 percent of” language in the statute. This could raise refund amounts for some families. The changes would apply to tax years starting after December 31, 2024.
