Telehealth Access for Tribal Communities Act of 2025

Permanently expands Medicare telehealth access for Indian health programs and urban Indian organizations. It would let eligible beneficiaries get certain Medicare telehealth services at any location in the United States, including their home, and would permit audio-only delivery and payment for specified services identified by HCPCS codes beginning April 1, 2025.

Medicare home and phone telehealth for tribal care

If enacted, Medicare would keep more telehealth options for patients of Indian Health Programs and urban Indian organizations. Starting April 1, 2025, certain listed services could happen from any U.S. location, including your home. Medicare would also cover and pay for some phone-only visits for those services. These rules would apply only to services Medicare already listed by billing codes on the bill’s enactment date, and to clinicians employed or contracted by those programs.
