National wildfire and health review every 4 years
If enacted, Agriculture, Interior, and Homeland Security would jointly review wildfire risks nationwide. They would study how changes to homes, buildings, and landscapes affect prevention, response, and recovery. They would analyze smoke and health impacts with EPA and HHS/CDC. A joint report would be due within 12 months, then every 4 years for 20 years. Reports would include a 20-year outlook, progress on national wildfire plans, recommendations for new actions, and future scenarios to guide programs and the workforce.
