Downwinder Commemoration Act of 2025

Summary
Creates a federal commemoration to honor the Downwinder communities of New Mexico who suffered generations of health harm, including cancer and infertility, from radioactive fallout after the July 16, 1945 detonation. It directs the Secretaries of the Army, the Air Force, and the Interior to obtain and place three honorific plaques within one year. One plaque will be at White Sands Missile Range. One plaque will be at Holloman Air Force Base. One plaque will be at White Sands National Park. Agencies will consult with other departments as they determine appropriate and choose plaque design.
