Fine Arts Protection Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Titus
In Committee
Summary
Requires the Comptroller General to review the GSA Fine Arts Collection. The bill would require a formal review within one year that inventories every artwork in the General Services Administration's Fine Arts Collection, estimates the collection's economic value including works commissioned under New Deal programs, assesses GSA stewardship and whether current staffing and funding are sufficient to manage and preserve the collection, compares GSA's management to similar institutions, and examines whether the collection should have a new home if GSA staffing and budgets continue to shrink. It would also require the Comptroller General to deliver a report with findings and recommendations to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works within two years.
