Revitalizing Rural Communities Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Representative Rep. Nunn, Zachary [R-IA-3]
Introduced
Summary
Raises annual funding for the Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program to $12 million for fiscal years 2026–2030. The Revitalizing Rural Communities Act of 2025 would amend section 313B of the Rural Electrification Act of 1936 by replacing the prior $10 million-per-year provision for 2019–2023 with a $12 million-per-year level for 2026–2030. The amendment extends and elevates funding for those specific future years and does not specify amounts for fiscal years 2024, 2025, or any year after 2030.

More loans and grants for rural areas
If enacted, this would authorize $12 million each year for fiscal years 2026–2030 for the Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program. That is $2 million more per year than the prior $10 million level. Rural communities, cooperatives, local governments, and eligible small businesses could get more loans and grants. This would only fund projects that meet program rules. The bill does not address funding for 2024 or 2025.
