Summary
Reinstates terminated DOE financial assistance awards. This bill would retroactively restore every Department of Energy financial assistance award ended under the Secretary’s May 15, 2025 memorandum. Those terminations would be treated as if they never occurred, so affected awards and recipients would regain funding and program status that had been stopped. The reinstatement applies regardless of other law, making the restored awards continue in effect going forward.

Restore Energy Department awards cut by memo
This bill would bring back Department of Energy financial assistance awards that were ended by the Secretarial Memorandum titled "Ensuring Responsibility for Financial Assistance" dated May 15, 2025. If enacted, those awards would be treated as if they were never ended and would continue. This would apply even if other laws say otherwise. It would help original award recipients, including individuals, small businesses, and research groups, by restoring their funding. The change would take effect upon enactment.
