Outreach and school help for Latino youth

This bill would fund a national outreach campaign for Hispanic and Latino youth mental health. It would provide $5 million each year for 2026–2030. Families, youth, teachers, and school clinic staff would get culturally and linguistically tailored messages, 9-8-8 materials, workshops, youth mental health first aid, school screenings, and on‑site consultations. The campaign would be coordinated across health and education agencies. A study of past federal campaigns, due within one year, would guide the effort.

Studies on Latino youth and providers

This bill would order two national studies within one year of enactment. One study would measure mental health and suicide risks, treatment, and awareness of 9‑8‑8 and crisis services among Hispanic and Latino youth. The other would count Hispanic and Latino mental health providers, languages, training pipelines, and recommend ways to grow the workforce. Each study would authorize $1 million for fiscal year 2026. The reports would be public and sent to Congress.
