HUD review of Buy America rules

This bill would require HUD to review how the Build America, Buy America Act applies to HOME-assisted activities. HUD would finish the review within 180 days after enactment. Within 90 days after the review, HUD would publish updated guidance clarifying how Buy America applies to HOME projects. Within 270 days after enactment, HUD would submit a report to the House Committee on Financial Services. HUD would also send the report to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. HOME grantees, contractors, suppliers, and low-income households in HOME-assisted housing could be affected by clarified Buy America procurement rules.
